The "Quatuor de Guitares de Versailles"

Created in 1987 by four young musicians graduated from National and International Prizes, the "Quatuor de Guitares de Versailles" first performed in public, salle Gaveau in Paris, invited by the french musical magazine Diapason. In 1991, the Quartet is the first Prize winner of the Internationaler Gitarrenwettbewerb für Quartette of Völklingen (Germany). In 1992 an 1993, two CD were recorded and were immediately welcomed by the public and musical critics.
The "Quatuor de Guitares de Versailles" has succeeded in awakening a strong interest among the public, whether by its transcriptions of works from the classical repertoire or by the creation and the broadcasting of new or unknow works of our century. French and foreign composers are also very interested in their work and dedicate their music to them. The "Quatuor de Guitares de Versailles" regulary performs in France and abroad (Germany, Belgium, Spain, Great-Britain, Lituania, Netherlands, Poland, Roumania, Switzerland...). A CD dedicated to four guitars and orchestra is planned to be soon released.
